"Now you're smiling out the window of that crummy hotel over Washington Square...speaking strictly for me we both could have died then and there." Can't think of it w/out thinking of Diamonds and Rust. Wonderful lighting.
My husband ran through here on our vacation and around the Village. One of the great spots on our 10 days in Greenwich Village. Beautiful colors on this photo Ken.
The night view of this historic arch is stunning with the silhouettes at the left base. This is certainly a busy location but the night shot gives it a less-crowded appearance.
oh my.......what happy memories I have of the many many many hours I've spent in Washington Square Park...we lived off Bleeker.......my son used to play chess with the chess guys when he was 6..7...8....they let him play for free cos he drew the crowd.....oh what happy daze.....!!!

This place is never empty, day or night.

I wonder i there's ever been a more flattering picture of the arch. The colors are so intriguing I came back for seconds.
